Environmental and Sustainability
Dr. Eric M Lui is Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering. He received his BSCE with high honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his MSCE and Ph.D. from Purdue University. Professor Lui's TEACHING and RESEARCH interests are in the area of Structural Engineering with an emphasis on structural stability, structural dynamics, structural materials, numerical methods, computer-aided analysis and design, and earthquake engineering.
Chris Johnson holds bachelor’s (Civil Engineering), Master’s (Statistics), and a Ph.D. (Geology) degrees, all from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, and was a Fulbright Scholar in the Czech Republic in 1994. He has served as a visiting faculty member at Charles University in Prague and Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. As an Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Syracuse University, Dr. Johnson teaches courses in environmental chemistry, soil chemistry, data analysis, and surveying.
James Winebrake is an accomplished scholar and teacher and has been an integral part of RIT’s research and educational mission for close to a decade. For the past eight years, Winebrake has served as chair of RIT’s Department of Science, Technology and Society/Public Policy, where he led efforts to develop and expand curricular offerings at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Tria Case, Esq., is the University Director of Sustainability for the City University of New York (CUNY). Since 2007, on behalf of NYC, Ms. Case has led the development and the implementation of multiple U.S. DOE funded solar programs, including the NYC Solar Map, leading to a ten-fold increase in solar capacity and the quadrupling of installation companies. The current focus, SMART NY, addresses soft Balance of System costs in NYC and includes plans to expand the program throughout the State.
