Sung Hoon Chung, an assistant professor in the Systems Science and Industrial Engineering Department, holds more than 40 patents registered in the United States and European Union. Chung received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Yonsei University in Seoul. He received his doctorate in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He previously taught at the College of William and Mary and the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. Chung, who specializes in mathematical optimization and healthcare operations management, will teach Applied Probability and Statistics at Binghamton University. His hobbies include photography and hiking.
