Dr. Wu is interested in integrating cognitive science and engineering system design, especially modeling human cognition system with its applications in system design, improving transportation safety, promoting human performance in human-computer interaction, and inventing innovative sustainable and smart energy systems with human in the loop.

Overall, Dr. Wu has a total of 105 publications with 1,013 citations (See his Google Scholar Page), including about peer-reviewed 69 journal papers, 35 conference papers, and 1 book chapter as well as 2 authorized patents. Dr. Wu's research is supported by NSF, NIH, UTRC/DOT, and Cisco.
