Brian Isoldi

Brian Isoldi is currently enrolled in his second year of the University at Albany’s Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning Program with a concentration in Transportation Planning. Brian is currently interning at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority helping integrate smart growth and sustainability into New York State. He has also interned at the Federal Highway Administration where he developed a guidebook to be used by municipalities and metropolitan planning organizations for efficient freight transportation planning. He also interned at the New York State Department of Transportation and wrote a preliminary feasibility investigation report to relieve bottleneck congestion on a major highway interchange. Brian is the Northeast representative of the American Planning Association Student Representative Council. His research will focus on analyzing bus rapid transit and light rail transit in various cities to determine which form of transit will have the biggest impact on future transit expansions. He has also written a student tutorial for Transit Boardings Estimation and Simulation Tool (TBEST). Brian is looking forward to his career in the field of transportation planning.
