The University Transportation Research Center (UTRC) at The City College of New York and SEMPACT (USDOT Region 2 UTC), are pleased to host a webinar featuring Dr. Stephen Miller, Chair of the Technical Committee at the Autonomous Vehicle Computing Consortium (AVCC): Decoding Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS): Compute Foundations, Key Challenges, and Future Directions.

Self-driving cars promise a revolution in transportation, but significant hurdles remain. This talk explores the key challenges in developing advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), focusing on balancing computational power with cost, ensuring software portability across evolving hardware platforms, and considering the safety implications for highly automated vehicles.

About the Speaker(s)

Dr. Miller develops product strategy at Bosch for sensor technologies and compute platforms related to driver-assistance systems. His background includes a Ph.D. in physics from Caltech and experience in physics research, the aerospace industry, and automotive applications of sensors, algorithms, and high-performance embedded computing. His current work centers on ADAS features for the software-defined vehicle. He also serves as Chair of the Technical Committee for AVCC where he guides the groups working to advance the industry ecosystem for vehicle compute.
