Before coming to Rensselaer, Dr. Boyce worked for the electricity industry in the Great Britain, carrying out industrial research on the interaction of people and lighting. In 1990, Dr. Boyce joined the Lighting Research Center as Head of the Human Factors Program, a position he still holds. He has published numerous papers and given many lectures on the behavioral, psychological, perceptual and physiological aspects of peoples' reactions to lighting conditions. He is currently co-holder of the Feltman Chair in the Humanities at Cooper Union.
