Dr. Wittig received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1998 from the University of Texas at Austin , where she developed expertise in ambient air pollutant measurement and modeling practices. Upon graduation, she worked as a consultant and managed and quality assured the field operations of several statewide air pollutant measurement campaigns. She also investigated the impact of pollutant emissions reductions on ambient air quality across the state of California . Dr. Wittig then accepted a post-doctoral research fellowship in Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University , where she collected near real-time measurements of gas and particulate matter pollutants and investigated the atmospheric processes which affected them. Ann accepted an appointment at the City College of New York in September 2003. Her current research interests address the measurement, chemical transformation, and movement of air pollutants, both indoors and outdoors.
