Michael E. Kress currently serves as Professor of Computer Science and Vice President for Technology Systems at The College of Staten Island. Dr. Kress received his Ph.D from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University and his Masters in Environmental Science from Richmond College.

Prior to joining the faculty of The College of Staten Island, Dr. Kress was a Research Associate at the Courant Institute where he studied Magneto-fluid Dynamics. His current research interests include Geographic Information Systems, Traffic Flow Modeling, Regional Planning and Computation Physics.

Dr. Kress has published in numerous scholarly journals on a wide variety of topics related to computational methods. Recently, his work on flow modeling of toll plazas has been presented at the Annual Meeting of The National Academies of Science Transportation Research Board.
