Basic Information

The National Center for Transportation and Industrial Productivity (NCTIP) at New Jersey Institute of Technology is one of four national university centers designated under the landmark Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) in 1991, which the U.S. Congress reauthorized, in 1998, as the Transportation Efficiency Act (TEA-21). Evolving from the strategic planning process of the U.S. Department of Transportation's University Transportation Centers Program, the purpose of NCTIP is to find ways to increase industrial productivity through improvements in transportation.
