The objective of this study is to identify the causes of delays that slow or prevent construction project closeouts and to identify the variety of problems that can occur when NYSDOT includes improvements for local governments as part of State highway construction projects. The findings will present recommendations for actions that resolve the causes of the delays or prevent the closeouts and will recommend alternate approaches to resolve the problems and contain the advantages and disadvantages of these approaches.

Project Objective

The primary objective of this study is to increase our understanding of degree of stress experienced by mass transit commuters and the impact of that stressful experience on commuters- lives, psychologically and psycho physiologically, at work and at home. We also seek to better understand the individual and trip factors and conditions that can serve to increase or ameliorate stress from the trip.
 

Project Overview

The research team worked with staff across all MTA operating agencies to analyze the impacts of deferring or canceling six projects in MTA’s propose 2005-09 core capital program. The objective was to come up with a clear methodology and means for communicating the fiscal prudence of these projects to policymakers and the public.
