Johanna Amaya is a researcher at the Center for Infrastructure, Transportation, and the Environment (CITE) and at the Volvo Research and Educational Foundation’s Center of Excellence for Sustainable Urban Freight Systems (CoE-SUFS) at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) located in Troy, NY. 

Johanna's research is in the field of transportation systems and logistics with focus on freight systems, operations management, and supply chain management. Her research interests include: disaster logistics and sustainable urban freigth systems.
