Drew Terpenning

Drew Terpenning is a graduate student at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has a multi-disciplinary background combining degrees and work experience in both civil engineering and business/economics. He received his B.A. in International Economics from Drew University in 2007 and worked for Barclays Capital Investments as an operations analyst prior to coming to NJIT. Drew began the program at NJIT in 2009, taking an intensive mix of undergraduate and graduate level civil/environmental engineering courses.  MORE about Drew Terpenning

Elisabeth Wooton

Elisabeth Wooton was awarded the Women’s Transportation Seminar Helen M. Overly Memorial Schloarship which is co-sponsored by UTRC. Dr. Alison Conway, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at CCNY, presented Ms. Wooton with her award during the WTS Greater New York Chapter’s Annual Gala. Ms. Wooton is working towards her Master of Urban Planning at the NYU Wagner School of Public Service and has worked as a City Planner for the MTA NYCT Department of Subways and most recently has taken a position in the NYCT’s Office of the President.  MORE about Elisabeth Wooton

Sandra Rothbard

Sandra Rothbard participated in the Academic Initiative by working at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey promoting community involvement in freight decision-making. Sandra’s supervisor at PANYNJ was Vince Mantero.  MORE about Sandra Rothbard

Judd Schechtman

Judd Schechtman participated in the Academic Initiative by undertaking independent research on the topic of “Is Sprawl Still the Law? Alexander Wolk

Through the Academic Initiative, Alexander Wolk participated as an intern in the NYCDOT Division of Planning and Sustainability and worked on a Bus Management Plan for Lower Manhattan.  MORE about Alexander Wolk

Haiyun Lin

Haiyun Lin participated in the Academic Initiative with independent research on the topic of “Keeping Up with the Trend – Improving the Residential Location Model for the New York Metropolitan Region.”  MORE about Haiyun Lin

Timon Stasko

Timon Stasko conducted an independent research project entitled “School Bus Emission Reduction in New York City.” His advisors were Dr. Oliver Gao of Cornell University and Mark Simon of NYCDOT. This project analyzed the cost effectiveness of Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOCs), Passive Diesel Particulate Filters (PDPFs) and Active Diesel Particulate Filters (ADPFs) in reducing vehicular emissions, as well as early vehicle retirement.  MORE about Timon Stasko
